Portobello Chair – STAINLESS STEEL

While New Zealand is the best place in the world to live, the climate can be harsh! Especially in coastal areas with their salty sea winds. Unfortunately, steel & sticky salt air are not great friends.  While we do all we can to protect our designs from corrosion, sometimes it’s necessary to step it up & bring in the big guns.

Stainless Steel is the best defence against sea spray, ocean winds, humidity & high rainfall areas. It is a much stronger and more durable base material, with increased corrosion resistance. If you do live near the ocean or where it rains a lot, we recommend you invest in stainless steel.

We designed the Portobello wire chair to be the great allrounder. Its timeless silhouette fits beautifully into any home or commercial space. Simple in style, with a low backrest & sleekly curved armrests it’s perfect at home & in offices, cafes & restaurants. Match the Portobello chair with Ico Traders’ round Omaha cafe’ table to create the perfect setting for compact dining spaces.

Special care & attention has been paid to the spaces between the wires,  creating an outdoor chair that is comfortable to sit on without extra cushioning. However, if you want to add another layer & extra comfort, we have designed a special outdoor chair pad to fit. (Made in New Zealand & sold separately).

Each chair requires a small amount of assembly on arrival, or for a small fee,  we are happy to do this for you.

Measures: 59cm wide x 55cm deep x 76cm high.

Seat height: 45cm (perfect dining chair height).

Custom colouring: $90.00 per chair

Assembly: $35/chair plus extra freight if applicable.

201 stainless steel contains 16%-18% chromium, 3.5%-5.5% nickel and 5.5%-7.5% manganese (providing corrosion resistance).*Note: Like a white Tshirt where every mark shows, a small amount of staining still may occur on lighter colourways.
